Thanks to its location in the central part of Europe and a well-developed transport network, Katowice can be easily accessed from different corners of the world. The city is situated  within a small distance from five European capitals – Berlin, Bratislava, Prague, Warsaw and Vienna.

BY PLANE

1. From Katowice-Pyrzowice Airport

By public transport:

Take the ZTM Katowice shuttle bus (AP) from the Katowice Airport to the centre of Katowice. The bus stops at the Katowice Bus Station. Ticket price: single 6,60 PLN valid 90 minutes (you can buy ticket from the bus driver)

2. From Kraków-Balice Airport

There are several bus companies which can take you to the centre of Katowice. Timetables and more information is available here.

Another way to get to Katowice is to go to Kraków city centre (options) and then take a train to Katowice or take a UNIBUS/ INTERBUS / FLIXBUS  from the main bus station, which will take you directly to the centre of Katowice and leaves approximately every 60  minutes.

A taxi from Balice to Katowice costs approximately 200 PLN (prior reservation recommended).

3. From Warsaw Chopin Airport

Get from the airport to the central train station by bus or train, then take a train to Katowice from the main train station in Warsaw: https://www.intercity.pl/pl/  

4. From Ostrava Airport (the Czech Republic)

Get to the central train station by bus or train, then take a train to Katowice.

BY TRAIN

There are direct train connections between Katowice and Vienna (5h), Berlin (8h) and Prague (5h).

BY COACH

There are low-cost direct coach connections between Katowice and Berlin, Bratislava and Vienna offered by FLIXBUS.
