The Polish Teachers' Union of Employees of the University of Economics in Katowice is a continuation of the Polish Teachers' Union established over 100 years ago. In the light of the provisions of the Statute, the main objectives of the Union are: protection of employee rights, assistance in resolving conflicts, support for members - in the event of their difficult material or health situation - and cultural and tourist activities.

As a trade union, it strives to achieve its objectives (in accordance with its rights). The challenge for university staff is such an activity, encouraged by Marshal Józef Piłsudski: "Make human souls to be reborn, change people, make them better, make them more powerful and stronger, this is your task. (Third ZNP Convention - 1921).
